What characterizes the Avenue earrings?

The Avenue earrings stand out for a fascinating artisanal technique: the glass paste is poured directly into the flame into a copper setting. This metal is specifically chosen for its ability to withstand the extreme heat of the pouring process. The creation is then delicately gilded with fine gold to perfect its shine.

Why copper and not brass?

Copper withstands the temperatures required for flame glass casting better. It is then gilded with fine gold by a master gilder from Paris.

Is there an Avenue necklace?

Yes. The Avenue Sautoir extends this signature in a long format, to be worn as a chain, double loop, or belt.

Are all the colors always available?

Since the glass paste is flame-cast, certain shades are produced in very limited series. The colors do not necessarily repeat.

Does the store offer gift wrapping?

Yes. Each piece is delivered in a signature case sealed by hand with our red wax seal.

A soft light nestled in the ear, a pearl that rests its roundness on movement. The Avenue Earrings, made of nacre pearl and glass paste, are worn as a natural choice, from the office to dinner. Refinement doesn’t need flashy sparkle to be noticed.

A discreet presence, in every season

The white pearl brightens the complexion, the gray one softens contrasts. On an open collar, the Avenue earrings complement both simple days and formal occasions. The same glass art flows through the other glass paste creations from the workshop.

Each order leaves the workshop in its case, hand-sealed with our signature wax seal. Tax-free shopping is offered in-store at 231 Rue Saint-Honoré for our international customers visiting Paris. A piece to discover also in-store.

It all starts with a colored glass rod, a flame, and a copper wire. Heated to over eight hundred degrees, the glass becomes malleable, and the hand shapes it in a single gesture. Each piece is born one after the other, never identical to the previous one.

Molten glass withstands the test of time, but it cannot tolerate shocks or abrasion. A few simple steps are enough to preserve its material:

Clean it with a soft, dry cloth, never using an abrasive product or an ultrasonic cleaner
Store it safely, away from metal objects that could scratch the surface.
Avoid perfumes and hairsprays applied directly to the jewelry
Remove it before sports, swimming, and sleeping

Exceptional expertise

In Françoise Montague's creations, the glass is melted at over 800°C with a flame. Our artisans fuse colored glass rods onto a copper framework, shaped by hand.

Small bubbles, slight asymmetries, and veins caused by the torch smoke reveal the handcrafting process. A perfectly smooth and symmetrical piece betrays industrial production.

Since 1945

The house of Françoise Montague was founded in 1945, heir to a Parisian jewelry workshop passed down by her mother. Françoise's style quickly became distinctive and recognizable: enameled and iridescent glass beads, unique craftsmanship, and boundless creativity. Within a few years, the house made a name for itself among lovers of characterful jewelry, staying true to a standard that has never wavered.

In 1978, a new chapter began. At just twenty-one years old, Marion Stern took the reins with the ambition to take the house even further. A visionary, she explored new territories and forged connections beyond borders: as early as 1981, Françoise Montague’s creations reached Asia, the Middle East, and the West. In 1998, she took a decisive step by opening the boutique at 231 rue Saint-Honoré, in the heart of Paris’s fashion and luxury district.

Today, the story continues. In June 2023, I joined the adventure in turn. My name is Rebecca Mamou-Stern, and with my engineer’s perspective and all the expertise passed down before me, I bring this house to life, between heritage and modernity. Every creation that leaves the workshop extends this story and writes it a little further.
