What is the Amalfi Short Necklace by Françoise Montague?

The Amalfi Short Necklace is a choker from the House of Françoise Montague, handmade in the workshop at 231 Rue Saint-Honoré, Paris 1st arrondissement. It is made up of three four-leaf clovers in flame-cast glass paste, with a larger central one, mounted on a strand of pearly glass beads. Available in three colors (Honey Topaz, Sapphire Blue, Transparent Crystal), it is produced in small batches from our Parisian workshop, which has been ongoing since 1945.

Why are the frames of the Amalfi Short Necklace made of copper and not brass?

Copper is the only common metal that can withstand the high temperatures involved in the flame glass paste casting technique. Brass would melt or deform during the process. That is why French haute couture artisans work with copper for glass paste jewelry: it ensures the strength of the setting and the accuracy of the shape. The copper is then plated with 24-carat fine gold by a specialized Parisian goldsmith.

Are the small bubbles in the glass of the Amalfi Necklace defects?

No. The fine air bubbles visible in the glass paste are the inevitable traces of artisanal flame casting. Each piece is cast individually: the bubbles form differently each time, making each clover unique and non-reproducible. They are the signature of the artisanal gesture. An industrial jewel would have none.

Can the Amalfi Short Necklace be worn with other pieces from the Amalfi collection?

Yes. The Amalfi Short Necklace was designed in harmony with the Amalfi Long Necklace and the Amalfi Earrings: same clover pattern, same glass paste, same artisanal technique. The three pieces can be worn together for a complete set, or individually for a more refined look. A private appointment in-store allows you to discover the three colors side by side and create the perfect combination.

Does the House offer tax-free shopping and international shipping for the Amalfi Short Necklace?

Yes. The tax refund service is available in-store at 231 Rue Saint-Honoré, Paris 1st arrondissement, for any customer residing outside the European Union. The Maison offers international shipping with DDP prices (taxes and customs duties included) to the United States and Gulf countries. Three four-leaf clovers that let light pass through like miniature stained glass windows. The Amalfi Short Necklace places the Maison's lucky charm at the hollow of the neckline, in its brightest version.

A symmetry that reads as obvious

The central clover, larger, gently stands out; the two side ones frame it discreetly. Mounted as a choker on a strand of white nacre pearls, the necklace dresses a neckline without ever overloading it. To be paired with the Amalfi long necklace and the earrings from the set.

A signature piece from our workshop, crafted in a small series, that no other exactly replicates. Each case is hand-sealed with our signature wax seal. Make an appointment at the boutique to discover and try it on.

Orders are prepared and shipped within 24 to 72 business hours. This timeframe may be extended during periods of high demand, such as holidays, trade shows, or inventory counts.

Shipments of pre-order items begin from the date specified on the product page. If your order includes two pre-order items, the package will be shipped once it is complete, based on the latest date.

Delivery in Metropolitan France is handled by DHL Express (24 hours after shipping, Monday to Friday), Colissimo (2-3 days), and internationally with DHL Express (2-5 days) or Colissimo (5-6 days) if your destination is not served by DHL.

A short necklace made of flame-cast glass paste
Each clover is hand-cast, flame-molded directly into the metal. This technique is inherited from traditional craftsmanship, requiring patience and precision. The fine bubbles visible in the glass are not flaws: they are marks of artisanal work.

The Amalfi Short Necklace is crafted in our workshop at 231 Rue Saint-Honoré, just steps from Place Vendôme, following a craftsmanship tradition passed down in the House since 1945.

Composition
Three clover shapes made of flame-cast glass paste, with color integrated into the material. Settings in 24-carat gold-plated copper: the copper withstands the high temperatures of casting. Gilding entrusted to a Parisian specialist. Strand of pearly glass beads.

Care
Remove your necklace before bedtime, bathing, and showering. Avoid contact with perfume and cosmetics, including on the beads. Store it in its case, away from light.

Each necklace is presented in its case, hand-sealed with the Maison's signature wax seal, bearing the coat of arms of Françoise Montague. For our international customers visiting Paris, tax refund is applied in-store at 231 Rue Saint-Honoré.

Internationally, shipping to the United States and Gulf countries is delivered DDP, including taxes and customs; for the European Union, prices include all taxes. To see the three colors side by side and create a harmony, make an appointment at the workshop.

Unique expertise since 1945

Our story begins in 1935, with a small jewelry workshop founded by Françoise Montague's mother. Ten years later, in 1945, the brand took the name it is known by today. Very quickly, its style stood out: enameled and iridescent glass beads, unique craftsmanship, and limitless creativity.

Then in 1978, a new chapter, a fresh breath. At just 21 years old, Marion Stern took the reins with the desire to make the house shine even further. A visionary, she explored new horizons and from 1981, Françoise Montague creations flew to Asia, the East, and the West. In 1998, she opened the boutique at 231 Rue Saint-Honoré!

And today? The story continues! In June 2023, I joined the adventure in turn. My name is Rebecca Mamou-Stern and with my engineer’s perspective and all the know-how passed down before me, I bring this beautiful house to life, between heritage and modernity.
