How to wear the Gabin Sautoir for different occasions?
The Gabin Sautoir can be worn in three different styles depending on the desired look. Worn as a single strand (160 cm), it stretches to its full length for a clean, relaxed line over a blouse or a simple dress. Worn doubled, it tightens and frames the face, creating a denser presence suitable for an evening event or a meeting. Worn tripled, it becomes a statement piece, regal enough to transform an outfit without adding any other jewelry. It can also be paired with a gold chain for a deliberate mix of materials. A private appointment at the boutique at 231 Rue Saint-Honoré allows you to try it in each of these styles.
Is the Gabin Sautoir entirely handmade in Paris?
Yes. Each Gabin Sautoir is individually assembled in the Françoise Montague workshop at 231 Rue Saint-Honoré, Paris 1st arrondissement, just steps from Place Vendôme. The pearls are selected one by one for their quality. This artisanal gesture has been passed down in the House since 1945: each piece is crafted in small series, never in industrial production. It is this rigor that distinguishes a haute couture jewel from a mass-produced necklace.
Can the Gabin Necklace be given as a wedding or birthday gift?
The Gabin Sautoir is one of the most gifted pieces from the House, precisely because it suits all major occasions: weddings, birthdays, births. Its versatility in wear makes it a jewel that will accompany you for decades, not just a season. Each piece is delivered in the House's signature case, hand-sealed with our wax seal, a ceremonial gesture that turns the packaging into a precious object even before it is opened.
What is the difference between the ivory version and the multicolor version?
The ivory version of the Gabin Necklace follows the tradition of great French couture necklaces: it is simple, timeless, and matches any wardrobe. It is the version for those who want a lasting, heirloom-quality piece. The multicolored version is bolder: the colored beads alternate with crystal spacers for a strong visual presence, perfect as a single strand on a solid background or as a triple strand for evening wear. Both versions share the same high level of craftsmanship and the same 160 cm length. To choose, a private appointment at 231 rue Saint Honoré remains the best option.
Does the Maison offer tax-free shopping and international shipping for the Gabin Necklace?
Yes. Tax refund is offered in-store at 231 Rue Saint-Honoré for any customer residing outside the European Union. For international shipments, the Maison ensures delivery DDP (taxes and customs included) to the United States and Gulf countries, with no hidden fees upon receipt. Shipments within Europe are made with all taxes included. Delivery is handled by DHL Express (2 to 5 days) or Colissimo depending on the destination. Each package is prepared and sealed with the care that a Françoise Montague piece deserves.

Unique expertise since 1945

The house of Françoise Montague was founded in 1945, heir to a Parisian jewelry workshop passed down by her mother. Françoise's style quickly became distinctive and recognizable: enameled and iridescent glass beads, unique craftsmanship, and boundless creativity. Within a few years, the house made a name for itself among lovers of characterful jewelry, staying true to a standard that has never wavered.

In 1978, a new chapter began. At just twenty-one years old, Marion Stern took the reins with the ambition to take the house even further. A visionary, she explored new territories and forged connections beyond borders: as early as 1981, Françoise Montague’s creations reached Asia, the Middle East, and the West. In 1998, she took a decisive step by opening the boutique at 231 rue Saint-Honoré, in the heart of Paris’s fashion and luxury district.

Today, the story continues. In June 2023, I joined the adventure in turn. My name is Rebecca Mamou-Stern, and with my engineer’s perspective and all the expertise passed down before me, I bring this house to life, between heritage and modernity. Every creation that leaves the workshop extends this story and writes it a little further.
