The perfect pearl necklace according to Françoise Montague. Handmade in our workshop at 231 Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris, this piece transcends seasons and generations without going out of style.

Are Ilona pearls natural?

No. They are made of carefully pearled glass, in the tradition of Parisian haute couture. As with natural pearls, avoid contact with perfume and chemicals.

The year-round pearl necklace

Over a knit sweater in winter, on a t-shirt in summer, on the lapel of a jacket or against a light dress: the Ilona Pearl Necklace adjusts to every neckline and complements every silhouette. It’s the piece you keep, love, and pass down to your daughter. To understand the knotting technique that gives it its value, discover our pearl necklace craftsmanship.

An iconic piece from our workshop, available in gold and silver. Each necklace is delivered in its case sealed by hand with our wax seal. To try it in both finishes, make an appointment at the boutique.

The heart of the Ilona Pearl Necklace lies in one gesture: the knotting. Between each nacreous pearl and each crystal rondelle, the workshop ties a hand knot, inherited from necklaces of the past. This patient work ensures the flexibility of the strand, its natural drape, and isolates each pearl from friction. Nothing is glued, nothing is rushed: the thread is knotted, pearl by pearl, up to the clasp.

Touches of crystal rondelles between the pearls bring light. It is this time given by hand, passed down in the House since 1945, that explains the value of the piece.

Care
Like real pearls, pearlized beads do not like perfume or cosmetics. Remove it before sleeping, bathing, or showering. Store it in its case, away from light and humidity, and restore its shine with a soft, dry cloth.

Orders are prepared and shipped within 2 to 5 business days (extended during high demand periods, trade shows, or inventory). Pre-order items are shipped from the date indicated on the product page; if the order includes two pre-order items, the package is sent once complete (the latest date).
Mainland France: Colissimo 13H (next-day delivery, Monday to Friday) or standard Colissimo (2 to 3 business days). International: Colissimo International or DHL Express, your choice (4 to 8 business days estimated depending on the carrier). The house of Françoise Montague was founded in 1945, heir to a Parisian jewelry workshop passed down by her mother. Françoise's style quickly became distinctive and recognizable: enameled and iridescent glass beads, unique craftsmanship, and boundless creativity. Within a few years, the house made a name for itself among lovers of characterful jewelry, staying true to a standard that has never wavered.

In 1978, a new chapter began. At just twenty-one years old, Marion Stern took the reins with the ambition to take the house even further. A visionary, she explored new territories and forged connections beyond borders: as early as 1981, Françoise Montague’s creations reached Asia, the Middle East, and the West. In 1998, she took a decisive step by opening the boutique at 231 rue Saint-Honoré, in the heart of Paris’s fashion and luxury district.

Today, the story continues. In June 2023, I joined the adventure in turn. My name is Rebecca Mamou-Stern, and with my engineer’s perspective and all the expertise passed down before me, I bring this house to life, between heritage and modernity. Every creation that leaves the workshop extends this story and writes it a little further.
