The Legacy
Our story began in 1935 with a small jewelry workshop founded by Françoise Montague’s mother. Ten years later, in 1945, the brand took on the name we know today. Its signature style quickly stood out—enameled and iridescent glass pearls, unparalleled craftsmanship, and boundless creativity.
Then in 1978, a new chapter, a fresh momentum. At just 21 years old, Marion Stern took the reins, determined to elevate the house to new heights. A visionary, she explored new horizons, and by 1981, Françoise Montague creations were traveling to Asia, the Middle East, and the West. In 1998, she opened the boutique at 231 Rue Saint-Honoré !
And today? The story continues! In June 2023, I joined the adventure myself. My name is Rebecca Mamou-Stern, and with my engineer’s perspective and all the expertise passed down before me, I carry this beautiful house forward, blending heritage with modernity.

Fashion Network - Françoise Montague, a brand created in 1945 and specialized in high-end 1950s jewelry, has a nostalgic view of costume jewelry: "the 1950s were truly the heyday of creation. Fashion is an eternal cycle…"
Les Paruriers - In an interview, Françoise Montague recounts that she discovered costume jewelry through her passion for "dedicating herself to embellishing [her] sisters... at little cost!" After a year at the School of Decorative Arts and experience in modeling, she took over the workshop founded by her mother in 1945.
