Our creations signed Françoise Montague are handcrafted in our atelier on rue Saint-Honoré, using carefully selected raw materials sourced in France and across Europe.
As with all costume jewelry, the metal used is brass, which we have gilded with 24-carat fine gold by a specialized Parisian workshop. For working with glass paste, we use copper — the only metal able to withstand the extreme heat of our flame, reaching up to 800 °C, necessary to pour the glass.
To preserve their shine and prolong their lifespan, a few simple gestures are all it takes.
Discover our care tips to keep your jewelry as beautiful as your most cherished memories.
Remove your jewelry before sleeping or exercising
Sweat, friction, and even simple movements can alter the shape of your jewelry and accelerate wear.
Moisture and heat, in particular, may dull the metals and damage the stones.
Whether you're heading to the gym or getting ready for bed, make it a habit to take off your jewelry — it will help preserve their beauty and sparkle for longer.
Avoid contact with water and personal care products
Water, perfumes, and creams are discreet but powerful enemies of your jewelry: they accelerate oxidation and diminish shine.
Treat your jewelry like true treasures — keep them away from such elements to maintain their brilliance.
It's best to remove them before washing your hands, showering, or applying perfume.
Store your jewelry with care
After wearing them, avoid leaving your jewelry on your bedside table.
Take a few seconds to store them in a compartmentalized box or a soft fabric pouch.
This prevents pieces from rubbing against each other and avoids scratches.
Also protect them from humidity and heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, which may alter their color and texture over time.
Clean your jewelry gently and regularly
Regular maintenance helps retain their shine without damaging them.
A soft, dry cloth is enough to remove fingerprints and small impurities.
For a deeper clean, use lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap.
Avoid any chemical or abrasive products that could harm the materials.
After cleaning, always make sure to dry your jewelry thoroughly with a clean cloth to eliminate any residual moisture.
Wear it with pride and love
A piece of jewelry lives with you. It evolves over time, and every mark tells its story.
By wearing it proudly and following these simple care tips, you allow it to journey through the years while preserving its beauty.
Your jewelry becomes a true witness of your story — accompanying your cherished moments and adding elegance to your everyday life.
Every little scratch on a necklace tells a tale: a trip, a night out with friends, a candlelit dinner.
To keep that story alive, it’s essential to care for it, just as you would a treasured memory.
